Midwest Technologies Moves Headquarters to Madrid

Midwest Technologies purchased the downtown building at 206 West Second Street. Owners Andy Knauss and Kent Spohnheimer are moving the business from Slater, and they hope to expand. Midwest Technologies offer sales and installation of central vacuum systems, Internet service, computer networking, video surveillance systems, DirectTV satellite service, and audio/video systems.

State-wide Tornado Drill–March 25

Wednesday, March 25 will be the day the state-wide tornado drill is held. The drill begins at about 10 am.

Move Vehicles off Street After Snow

Cars must be moved off of the street so that the city can plow snow. City ordinances prohibit parking on the street during snow removal. Any vehicles not moved will be ticketed according to Madrid Police Chief, Rick Tasler.

Carlson is New Owner of ADIO Fitness

Jolynne Carlson purchased A.D.I.O. Fitness from Steve and Amy Kleinwort. Carlson plans to keep changes to a minimum, but she hopes to expand services and membership opportunities in the future. Carlson also brings her current coaching and training business, “Shine Wellness Coaching” to A.D.I.O. Fitness.

The Roost Opens in Downtown Madrid

Owner Erin Owen opened The Roost during Labor Day weekend. The shop sells jeans, children’s tutus and shoes, purses, wallets, scarves, and Madrid apparel. The store is at 220 South State St in Madrid.

Williams Become Sole Owners of Wilcox Printing

Kenneth and Jennifer Williams purchased the remaining half of Wilcox Printing and Publishing Inc. No immediate changes are expected. “We are excited and proud to keep the business in the family,” Dennis Wilcox said. Jennifer is the third generation of Wilcox ownership since 1957.

Roorda/Johnson Donate $10,000 for Trail Access

Becky Roorda and Dave Johnson donated $10,000 for a new trail access in Madrid.
