Madrid VFW Coat Drive

The Madrid VFW Coat Drive is now open! We are accepting coats to be donated to our veterans at the VA. Every year the demand for coats exceeds the availability and we would like to ask our great community and followers to please assist us in taking care of our Veterans in need.

We will be accepting coats now through October 10, 2017. We will have a box located downstairs to collect these.

Vehicle Donations Needed for Fire Department Training

The Madrid Fire Department will hold a Fire Fighter 1 class in Madrid. Three to four vehicles are needed for live fire training and for JAWS training. Do you have an old vehicle you don’t need on your property? ConsiderĀ donating itĀ for the training. To begin, contact Public Safety Director Rick Tasler at 795-3113. The donation can be used as a 2017 tax write off.

Madrid Community Endowment Fund Celebrates 10 Years

The Madrid Community Endowment Fund (MCEF) was created in 2004 by the late Reuben Peterson. He recruited the original thirty-three donors, who donated $1,000 each. Since 2004, MCEF has awarded over $40,000 to 27 local groups and organizations to improve the Madrid community.

Your support is needed! Honor Reuben’s legacy, and donate to the Fund. Donate here: http://www.iowacommunityfoundations.org/madrid-community-endowment-fund.aspx
